One of my readers passed along this sale. At first, I assumed that it will only ship to US addresses, but it seems that it will ship to Canada even though it is only being offered through the main Amazon site. It specifically says "
Shipping: This item is also available for shipping to select countries outside the U.S."
For those who cannot see the graphic link: All American 921 21-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner
![]()
- The regular price is $362 USD and it is only sale for only $199.99 USD, or a savings of about $162.
What I cannot figure out is if it qualifies for Free Shipping when coming to Canada. I will assume that it does not, which would mean about $50 shipping. Assume that it will cost, then, about $250.
By way of comparison, ordering it through
Amazon Canada
would cost
CDN$ 288.14 + $51.72 shipping, since it does not qualify for free shipping in Canada. Even with shipping costs, if you're looking to get an All-American canner, that's a good price out of the U.S.

I was looking at this one awhile ago, and yeah, the shipping and fees are pretty prohibitive from the States to Canada. I really wish amazon.ca would stock them. That said, it looks like that's the regular amazon.com price for that model, so if anyone's knows someone in the states or is headed down for a visit, it could still be ordered to a US address and then brought across the border - since it's US made, there shouldn't be any duty on it, based on my understanding.
ReplyDeleteIt IS available through Amazon.ca - I posted the link above - at a price of CDN$ 288.14 + $51.72 shipping. However, it's quite a price, isn't it? I'm going to stick with my Presto for now.
ReplyDeleteSorry - should have been clearer. I've seen the ones on amazon.ca, but they all seem to be from third-party vendors, so they don't have the same discounts that amazon would if they were selling the same thing directly. They also may not have the same guarantees and return policies, and after reading about a few people who had issues with their canners, I'd want to see it in person first, or have a darn good return policy behind what I bought.
ReplyDeleteIf you live near the border, there are now several companies that will provide a shipping address and you can then just nip across the border and pick it up, for a very small fee. Unless you're me of course, for whom, crossing the border is like a very trying day out all on its own :-(
