If you live near the border, there are now several companies that will provide a shipping address and you can then just nip across the border and pick it up, for a very small fee. Unless you're me of course, for whom, crossing the border is like a very trying day out all on its own :-(

Sorry - should have been clearer. I've seen the ones on amazon.ca, but they all seem to be from third-party vendors, so they don't have the same discounts that amazon would if they were selling the same thing directly. They also may not have the same guarantees and return policies, and after reading about a few people who had issues with their canners, I'd want to see it in person first, or have a darn good return policy behind what I bought.

I was looking at this one awhile ago, and yeah, the shipping and fees are pretty prohibitive from the States to Canada. I really wish amazon.ca would stock them. That said, it looks like that's the regular amazon.com price for that model, so if anyone's knows someone in the states or is headed down for a visit, it could still be ordered to a US address and then brought across the border - since it's US made, there shouldn't be any duty on it, based on my understanding.

Almost $82 in shipping fees, plus $42 in import fees, totalling over $320. So still a great deal, not much cheaper than from here.

And nothing qualifies for free shipping from the .com site (when shipped to Canada, that is).
